Privacy Policy

Overview

Wkly ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we never do with it.

The short version: we collect the minimum information needed to run the app. Your actual spending transactions never leave your phone.

What we collect

When you create a Wkly account, we collect:

• Your name — to personalize your experience
• Your email address — for account authentication and recovery
• Your weekly income amount — the single number you set in the app
• Your spending category names and budgets — the categories you create (e.g., "Lunch $60/week")
• Weekly savings summaries — aggregate totals only (e.g., "saved $45 the week of June 16"), never individual transactions

What we never collect

This is the important part:

• Individual transactions — what you spent, where, or when. These stay encrypted on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
• Bank credentials — if you use our Pro card connection feature, your login credentials are handled entirely by Plaid. We never see them.
• Transaction descriptions — even with a connected card, transaction details are processed locally and never uploaded.

Pro subscribers — Plaid connection

If you upgrade to Wkly Pro and connect a credit card, we use Plaid to securely access your transaction data. Here's how it works:

• Plaid handles all bank authentication — we never see your bank login credentials
• Transaction data is fetched from Plaid and processed locally on your device
• We store only a secure access token (a key that lets us fetch transactions) — never the transactions themselves
• You can disconnect your card at any time, which revokes this access immediately

How we store your data

The data we do collect (name, income, categories, savings summaries) is stored securely on Supabase servers with:

• AES-256 encryption at rest
• TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit
• Row-level security so only you can access your own data

Your local transaction data is stored in encrypted on-device storage using the same security technology as Apple Pay.

We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever. That's not our business model — our business model is a $4.99/month subscription.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). This permanently deletes all your data from our servers within 30 days. Your local device data is cleared immediately upon account deletion.

Children's privacy

Wkly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect.
